Senior
Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Design Engineer
This
position requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering
(BSEE preferred) and five years' experience in I&C
design engineering with at least two years in the
nuclear power industry. The successful candidate will
have a strong working knowledge of the systems and
components required to support the plant licensing
and design basis. Responsibility areas include operability
reviews, engineering evaluations, instrumentation
set-points and uncertainties, scaling, EMI/RFI, digital/microprocessor
instrumentation (including software, firmware and
SQA requirements), reactor protection and control
systems, radiation monitoring systems, BOP control
systems (digital and analog), and 50.59 evaluations.
Licensing
Engineers/Specialists
STP
has openings for Licensing Engineers/Specialists in
its Regulatory Affairs Department devoted to the licensing/construction
efforts for Units 3 & 4. The positions require
a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a BS degree
in Mathematics, Physical Science or Engineering Technology.
In addition, the position requires a minimum of two
years' licensing experience at a commercially operating
nuclear plant.
Manager, Compensation
and Benefits
Individual
will provide strategic management direction in the
development, coordination and administration of the
companys compensation and benefits programs
to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
and maintain a competitive market position. The successful
candidate will oversee all programs including employee
welfare plans, pension and 401K plans, executive incentive,
deferred compensation and bonus programs, and overall
salary structure administration. Individual must have
a strong working knowledge of ERISA, FLSA, COBRA,
FMLA and other applicable state and federal regulations.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred, SAP a plus. The
position requires a minimum of ten years experience
in benefits and compensation program administration
with three years in a supervisory/management role.
In addition, a Bachelors degree in business
administration or human resources management is strongly
preferred.
General
Supervisor Health Physics
This
position is responsible for supervising resources
for the development, implementation and administration
of assigned radiological programs. The position requires
a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or related science.
Without a degree, five years' professional level experience
in radiation protection. NRRPT Certification and/or
CHP Certification a plus. In addition, the position
requires ten years' of professional level experience
in radiation protection. Two years' experience shall
be in such areas as pre-operational and start-up activities,
or in the operation, maintenance or testing of a nuclear
power plant. Three years must be supervisory.
Supervisor,
Quality Units 3 & 4
This
position is responsible for supervising activities
and personnel related to assigned quality discipline
in accordance with NRC requirements, the STP operating
license, the Combined License Application, and station
expectations. Discipline activities typically include
audits, surveillance, inspection, monitoring, assessment,
and material testing. The position requires a Bachelors
degree, preferably in engineering. In addition, the
position requires ten years' experience in the nuclear
industry in licensing, quality assurance, plant operations,
maintenance, or engineering. Previous supervisory
or management experience preferred.
Associate
Engineers
STP
has openings for motivated, entry-level degreed engineers
to support its two operating units and effort to construct
two additional units. The positions require a Bachelor's
degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Nuclear or
Civil Engineering, or Engineering Technology. Opportunities
exist in a variety of engineering functions including
design, systems, maintenance, testing/programs, fuels
analysis and regulatory/licensing.
Engineering
Internships
STP
also provides Engineering internships year-round to
bright and enthusiastic college students eager for
real-world experience with an industry leader. Internships
are available to college and graduate students majoring
in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Nuclear
Engineering, or Engineering Technology. Students with
ties to the central Texas Gulf Coast are especially

Senior
Safe Shutdown Analysis Engineer
STP
has an opening for a Senior Safe Shutdown Analysis
Engineer in its Design Engineering Department. The
successful individual will have a working knowledge
of the systems and components required to support
safe shutdown, system interactions, cable and circuit
design requirements, breaker fuse coordination, high
impedance faults, and electrical circuit separation
analysis, along with a strong background with the
issues and requirements of safe shutdown-related NRC
Generic Letters, Information Notices, and other regulatory
industry issues concerning the technical and design
aspects of the safe shutdown analysis as described
in Branch Technical Position 9.5-1, NUREG-800 (post-1979
safe shutdown), 10CFR50, Appendix R, Sections IIIG
and IIIL. This knowledge will applied in demonstrating
that plant equipment and circuits will remain free
from fire damage. The position requires a Bachelor
of Science in Engineering (preferably Electrical Engineering)
with a minimum of five (5) years of design engineering
work as a safe shutdown analysis engineer.

Incentive Program
STP,
in cooperation with local colleges, has developed
an innovative Nuclear Power Technology associates
(two-year) degree program to prepare students for
well paid apprentice positions as plant operators
and electrical, mechanical, chemistry, health physics
or I&C technicians. STP will help students earn
